Is it me or maybe it is my husband?

I am 29 and my husband is 7 years older than me. We've been trying to get pregnant for almost a year and nothing has happened. I have been religiously calendaring my cycle. I even made sure to start having sex on the 10th day (instead of the 13th) from the last day of my menstrual cycle (my doctor told me that sperms lives up to 24 hours and that starting a day or two early helps). I've gotten so frustrated with the situation, I went and paid a lot of money for this computerized stick to urinate on just so I would know for sure when I am ovulating.

Two months have passed and still no baby on the way. I am starting to have a slight suspicion that maybe my husband's sperm count may be low. My doctor suggested that he comes in to do a few tests. To tell you the truth, I am quite nervous telling my husband this. I don't know how he will handle it. After all, he is older and I hear that sperm count does decrease just as the egg is not as fertile.

Does anyone have a suggestion and could I be doing something wrong?

I feel your frustration. It took us forever to concieve our second baby. Our first one was easy because she wasn't planned!!! But when push comes to shove and we were waiting, hoping, planning and making our second, we couldn't get pregnant.

I honestly think it was the stress. I stressed myself out. I stressed my husband out. I stressed everyone out around me. All I did was focus on this calendar. I was constantly scribbing on it and double checking when I would be ovulating. I think they say when you want something really badly and you focus all your energy on it, you are less likely to get it. So what did i do? I finally let the idea of conceiving go. I threw away the calendar, and went back into our date night routines and focused more on my first child. Once I have let nature take it's course, I GOT PREGNANT! (that took about 2 months) I think the trick is to not focus so hard. Btw, a little alcohol helps. They say that drinking will increase body temperature, which creates the male and female to be more fertile. Anyways, it worked for us and now we are expecting our second!

Good Luck!
